Software Testing

Internships Descriptions

The Software Testing Internship at SkilLeo offers a practical, hands-on experience tailored for students and freshers aiming to enter the IT industry as QA professionals. This internship is not a theoretical course, but a live industry-aligned program where you actively work on real-time software testing projects in a structured environment.

You’ll begin by understanding the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)—the two pillars of every QA process. As the internship progresses, you'll deep dive into manual testing techniques including test case writing, test scenario design, requirement analysis, and defect reporting using popular bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla.

You will work closely with development teams to understand how real bugs are reported, tracked, and resolved in industry-grade environments. This means identifying different types of defects—UI bugs, functional bugs, logical errors—and learning how to log and communicate them effectively using structured defect templates.

Once manual testing concepts are mastered, the program introduces you to automation testing tools such as Selenium, where you'll learn how to write basic scripts for repetitive test cases, perform browser compatibility testing, and build a basic automation framework.

Key modules include:

  • Test Case & Test Scenario Design

  • Functional, Regression & Smoke Testing

  • Bug Tracking and Reporting

  • Introduction to Selenium IDE & WebDriver

  • Writing and executing test scripts

  • Working with real-life builds for testing

  • Team collaboration with developers and business analysts

This internship is especially beneficial for students looking to build a career in:

  • Manual Testing

  • Automation Testing

  • QA Analysis

  • Mobile/Web App Testing

By the end of the internship, you'll have hands-on experience in creating test documentation, conducting test cycles, identifying and managing bugs, and reporting progress in an agile setup.

You'll leave with a project experience letter, internship certification, and a professional QA portfolio—helping you confidently apply for QA roles or freelance testing gigs. You will also gain a deep understanding of the mindset and discipline required to ensure software quality in production environments.
